A wide open race where it’s difficult to rule anything out completely. The one I like the most is LES PAVOTS who looks to want the step up in trip after finding the likes of Ramatuele too fast over sprinting trips. She found 7f more to her liking when coming from last to first to land a Group Two at Deauville – the second placed in a Group One next time and the third placed behind today’s opponent and second favourite Darnation at Doncaster, so there’s substance to that form. Her dam, Sparrow, sired strong stayers Sir Dragonet and Sir Lucan and her sire, No Nay Never, has produced Group One winning milers so I’m not concerned she hasn’t proven she stays. She’s very experienced – this is her sixth start this year – and looks good value for an 9/1 chance.
