I’m not really sure what Charlie Appleby was thinking running LOXLEY in the St Leger, after saying he wouldn’t try the trip again after he was beaten at Newmarket earlier this season by Wells Farhh Go.
I hope that non-staying St Leger performance hasn’t left a mark as I’m certain he’s the best horse in the Group Two Prix Dollar at Longchamp tomorrow.
A general 3/1 underestimates his chance as he races off level weights despite being a Group Two winner this season, and this drop to ten furlongs is likely to suit him better than the back-to-form Knight To Behold, who was so close to being our Derby selection in June.
I think Loxley has more class than Harry Dunlop’s colt, so he’s got to be a bet at the prices.
1pt win Loxley @100/30, 15:30 Longchamp, Saturday
