LUCCIA ticks a lot of boxes here. Like half of this race’s winners in the last decade, she’s only five and has loads of scope to improve past her 136 rating. She has Grade 1 form having finished less than 3l behind Inthepocket at Aintree and a 3l reappearance defeat to the Mares’ Novice Hurdle Festival winner You Wear It Well with Grade 1 placed Kateira 16l back in third. That’s all proper form and potentially a cut above handicaps. The Henderson yard has always thought very highly of her and she rates a really good bet at double digit odds.
I’ll be firing two darts with ANYHARMINASKING a slightly bizarre price at 20/1 after what looked a brilliant reappearance run behind Nemean Lion in the Welsh Champion Hurdle, for which he’s up 4lb. He hadn’t run for 310 days, last running as a 5yo, and now six he still has plenty of scope to improve again on his second start of the year. Oh, and he beat Constitution Hill in a point. Check the exchanges for even bigger prices – I’ve readily taken some 33/1.
