LUCKY PLACE looks way overpriced here. He’s got more 2s than 1s next to his name and perhaps that puts people off, but pay closer inspection and some of those defeats are big runs. Firstly he isn’t a two miler and bumped into a really classy horse first time out at Huntingdon, running really well but clearly lacking gears to go with the winner. He then bolted up at Doncaster up in trip and then went on to Taunton only to get narrowly turned over by a well bred flat mare giving her a full stone. This is a step up in trip again at a stiffer track and on better groind which should all be ideal. The favourite Gidleigh Park has got a bit of hype behind him and has looked really good so far, but I’m not running scared when the selection is 12 times the price and within touching distance on ratings.
