A slightly odd betting market as race favourite King Of Steel is yet to win a Group One and the Derby form didn’t stand up well against the older generation in the King George. I like him a lot and this trip should really suit him, but he’s far too short. I make the form horse NASHWA, a three time Group One winner against her own sex, as she split star three-year-old Paddington and Europe’s highest rated turf horse Mostahdaf at York on her first try against colts. Mostahdaf smashed up Bay Bridge and last year’s winner Luxembourg at Ascot, and that’s the money form. 7/1 is a generous price.
