1m Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas (Group 1) (No Geldings) (3yo)

Field Of Gold probably should have won the English Guineas and will relish this stiffer mile. There are no obvious negatives but it’s a competitive race and he’s very short. Cosmic Year has a good chance but a stiff mile in a Group One will really test his stamina and he looked very speedy last time out. I’d want a bigger price. The vibes are getting warmer about Coolmore’s OFFICER as he wasn’t the intended first string but is the chosen one from the all conquering yard. At 7/1 he’s worth chancing on the strength of his pedigree and connections. He’s a course and distance winner this season and is hard fit so there will be no excuses. The obvious one with all the form is Hotazhell who landed Group One honours at Doncaster over the mile and will certainly stay. He likes Curragh and his form has worked out well this season, but he has to prove he’s trained on and sharp enough to win first time out, which I’m doubtful of.
