1pt win Ooh Betty @14/1, 14:25 Sandown, Saturday

2m (1m7f216y) Betfair Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 2) (4yo+)

A winner on the eve of Cheltenham can’t hurt and I’m firing a dart at the Imperial Cup on drying ground. OOH BETTY has been in really good form this year, after a wind surgery last summer. She won easily off 123 at Sandown on her first start, blew out at Newbury next time, then returned to form to win a Kempton handicap off 128 before running third in a competitive Grade 2 at Ascot. The horses that she got within 3l of at Ascot boast very good form. The winner was a neck behind runaway William Hill Hurdle winner Joyeuse (Grade 1 entered at Cheltenham) whilst giving her 18lb, and the second at at Ascot was multiple Grade 1 winner Kargese, who had flirted with favoritism for the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham and I reckon will rate in the 150s in time. It’s top form and she looks a steal at 14/1.
