PEACH TREE looks a peachy bet at 5/1 for the Group Two May Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday.
She’s trained by the back-in-form Aidan O’Brien, whose yard has been plagued by illness through this flat season, and I’ve no doubt that fact will ensure there are plenty of overpriced runners from his yard throughout the remainder of the season.
Peach Tree could easily have been affected by the bug in the yard, and she might be a good bit better than the form book currently suggests.
She was beaten last time in an Irish Group Three by Just Wonderful, who is one of the favourites for a Group One this Sunday, so that form alone could be the best in this race.
The favourite is a once-raced winner by Frankel, however the horse he beat last time out was eighth of eight at Goodwood on his next start and I can’t believe he’s favourite for this.
That has helped push Peach Tree’s price out, which is cool with me.
1pt win Peach Tree @5/1, 14:25 Doncaster, Thursday
