7f Tattersalls Acomb Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (2yo)
This is my kind of race. The yard must be backing the favourite because he doesn’t stand out on form or pedigree, so he’s easy enough to take on. It’s much of a muchness for most of them so I’m looking for a decent price. I like the Mark Johnston horse Gear Up as he’s proven at York and did it well on debut, but the one I’m backing is Marco Botti’s PRAISE OF SHADOWS, who looked to have a lot about him when winning well at Chester just eight days ago. He looks a strong stayer, has a good action, has shown as much visually as anything in this field and is available at 11/1.
