2m5f Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (GBB Race) (Class 1) (5yo+)

Party Business was putting in a decent run in the Grade 1 Challow Novice hurdle last time out before coming down two hurdles from home. He may very well have been runner-up at Newbury, but he has to overcome what looked a nasty fall. Surrey Quest has looked a promising individual and is 2/2 from his first two starts over hurdles. He has, however, looked quite babyish and that might just catch him out against a more experienced type in the shape of STAG HORN.

A classy performer on the flat Stag Horn made the switch to hurdles successfully on debut, leading from pillar-to-post in a 16-runner race which included previous winners. The front two came quite far clear of the rest and the second has since franked the form with a comfortable success.

A mark of 108 on the flat demonstrates just how good Stag Horn was in that sphere and he held form behind the likes of Stradavarious and Stratum.

Stag Horn could be an exciting recruit to the jumping discipline and his extra experience as well as his class might help him to get the better of these novices and is a nice price trading as the third favourite in the market.
