1pt win Starlust 10/1, 1pt win Kerdos 16/1, 14:05 Longchamp, Sunday

5f Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines (Group 1) (2yo+) (Sprint Course) (Turf) (2yo+)

Bradsell might be the best sprinter in Europe at the moment and a draw in stall 9 may not be beyond him for a race where being drawn low is a massive advantage. He renews his rivalry with Believing who I have followed nearly all season. For a change, Believing has the better draw of the two but she isn’t always the fastest starter and I think she favours a more testing 5f than the short 5f run in the Abbaye.

The ground also looks like remaining on the slower side, STARLUST and KERDOS are both proven on soft ground have both been given excellent draws in stall 2 and 3. Starlust put in a career best last time out when finishing just over a length behind Bradsell and Believing and he could be peaking at the right time for this race. Starlust skipped the Flying Five at The Curragh so will be fresh for this contest.

Kerdos ran quite flat in this contest last season but has been there or thereabouts in all the big sprints this season. He showed his best form on soft ground at Haydock where he had the likes of Asfoora and Live In The Dream behind him. Kerdos has been very consistent on ground that has been too fast for him so he should be more at home on this surface and again his draw should help him carve a nice route into the race. He looks overpriced at 16/1.
