2m5f (Old) Turners Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (Registered As The Baring Bingham Novices’ Hurdle) (GBB Race) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Final Demand and The New Lion are contrasting types at the top of market, and both have excellent chances. Drying ground gives the big staying chaser type Final Demand something to think about and my first impression after his DRF win was he was all stamina. It’s difficult to knock The New Lion besides he’s trained in Britain, and the domestic novice hurdle form has been non existent so should be treated with real caution. The Irish have absolutely dominated this race and I’m convinced THE YELLOW CLAY will improve plenty for good ground. He’s by Yeats, a sire of multiple Cheltenham winners, and is 4/4 this season including Grade 1 honours last time out. Collateral form with stablemate Wingmen has him on par with Final Demand and I think he’s the clear value play at 6/1.
