There are quite a few unexposed chasers in here, but most of them are having their first run of the season. Chavez may be racing off a good mark, but he’s hardly a dead-cert whilst Drumbear may be the one to follow in the longer term.
Hence, with plenty of question marks over several of these runners, I’m inclined to go with a horse who looks hugely in-form in the shape of TYPICAL THOMAS who comes into this searching for a hat-trick of Chase successes and has been racing exhuberantly in all his races.
Despite this being run over 2m 1f, he stays further which is often a benefit at Leopardstown and he should relish the quicker going.
Typical Thomas is bound to go well here in spite of an 8lb rise and with just three Chase starts he could still show plenty of improvement.
