At a big price, I’ve been tempted into having a bet on Ubak in the Grade-2 Fuller’s London Pride Novices’ Chase.
Not seen on track since 2013, his trainer Gary Moore has him “as fit as we can get him at home” so he might be a snip at 22/1 should he retain the Grade-1 class he once showed over hurdles.
It’s no doubt a long-shot given the lay-off, but he’s always been considered a chaser by connections and this is a confident choice of race to reintroduce him, so there’s cause for optimism.
Coral Cup third Activial looks to have a big chance, as does the progressive Maximiser, who looks plenty short at 3/1.
