Karl Burke’s UNFORTUNATELY hasn’t had a great season, after promising so much as a juvenile when winning the Prix Morny.
He missed the break in the Commonwealth Cup and couldn’t get competitive, while his Group One assignment at Deauville was more than underwhelming – he came home 10th in both of those starts.
However, he’s clearly got some ability and the triple-whammy of Autumn ground, Frankie Dettori taking the ride, and a new trip of seven furlongs could combine to reignite his season.
I’m always keen to follow horses who have shown back class, and I suspect it’s too late to write this fella off yet – he’s only three.
16/1 is a big price to roll the dice, in what looks a wide-open Group Two.
1pt win Unfortunately @16/1, 14:25 Doncaster, Saturday
