We could see record temperatures in the UK today so I’m having a hard time believing Sandown’s Thursday card will be raced on anything other than good-to-firm ground.
The classiest race on the card is a 2yo Listed heat for fillies, featuring some nice pedigrees, but it’s WEST END GIRL who gets the vote for the unexposed sire Golden Horn. Golden Horn won the Derby, Eclipse, Irish Champion Stakes and Arc in 2015, and loved fast ground – he is the best middle-distance horse we’ve seen this decade and has huge potential as a sire.
West End Girl won on debut and has scope for any amount of improvement, so 9/1 stands out as a bit of value in a six-runner race.
1pt win West End Girl @9/1, 14:15 Sandown, Thursday
