2pts win Qemah @2/1, 14:55 Deauville, Sunday

Success Days was a 4/1 winner yesterday while Ulysses was best of the rest behind flat racing’s new superstar Enable in the King George.

A month of Sunday Group Ones at northern French track Deauville begins today, kicking off with the Prix Rothschild for the filly milers.

With dual-Royal Ascot winner and last year’s victor QEMAH at 2/1, this looks fairly straightforward from a betting perspective.

Ground, track and trip are all in her favour and she’s got winning form over a few of today’s opponents.

Godolphin’s Usherette is one of those, but despite her being unlucky when hitting traffic last time out at Ascot, she had her preferred fast ground that time and won’t today.

The two are very closely matched and I’m expecting it to be between them.

Roly Poly won a terrible renewal of the Falmouth Stakes earlier this month at Newmarket, and I’d be amazed if she can be competitive here without fast ground.

British raider Persuasive makes her first start of the season and can claim the beating of Qemah at the back-end of last season at Leopardstown.

I wouldn’t read too much into that form given Qemah is clearly better than that, and the fact Jean-Claude Rouget’s filly has won at Royal Ascot this season goes some way to proving it.

This is a good renewal but there is no superstar in here, and I think the 2/1 about Qemah is pretty good with those I haven’t mentioned offering little on the form book.
