Saturday tips: Bareback Jack @6/1 (13:30 Kelso), Millers Bank @12/1 (14:30 Newbury)

At first glance of this market, I was surprised to see the brilliantly named BAREBACK JACK at 6/1 after he impressed last time out, remaining unbeaten and taking the scalp of the useful Third Time Lucki. My Drogo is very good and his form really stands up to scrutiny after Soaring Glory won the Betfair Hurdle, but he concedes weight all round here and that levels the playing field.

MILLERS BANK has been in my tracker all season and has hit some form after a wind op. He beat three last-time-out winners on his previous hurdles start off a 4lb lower mark and later went and ran a good second in a jumpers’ bumper at Kempton. Whilst he’s not obviously well handicapped he is a horse in form and that counts for plenty. 12/1 makes him very easy to back against a couple of favourites who have plenty to prove.
