Andre Fabre has won two Prix De La Foret’s with three-year-olds and TROPBEAU could be the next to do it for the master trainer. This daughter of Showcasing should relish the bottomless conditoons and put in a career best last time out. She finished close behind Earthlight in the Qatar Prix du Pin over this course and distance having raced off a 63 day break and she is entitled to come on again.
Tropbeau gets a 4lb swing with current 2/1 favourite, Earthlight, but I don’t think she should be eight times the odds of her stablemate at 16/1. There is no doubt who the yard’s number one is in this but if Tropbeau can eek a small level of improvement which a horse with her profile should be able to do then she can make her presence felt from a draw of stall 5.
Safe Voyage has looked better than ever at the age of seven this year and I would fancy him to reverse form with last year’s winner One Master.
But all of the well-fancied horses look very short in the betting and Tropbeau looks overpriced in a race that should suit.
