Japanese raider A Shin Hikari, the highest rated racehorse in the world, sets the loftiest of standards and appears a certainty for the Prince Of Wales Stakes, the feature race on Royal Ascot’s Wednesday card.

A wide-margin demolition of a top-class Group One field on very soft ground last time out at Chantilly takes away any ground concerns – watch below – and that he’s already won Group One races in foreign countries takes away any doubt there too.

He might even be value at 8/11 in what is a rain-depleted small field for this major Group One.

I’m struggling to find obvious options to take him on with as, despite missing the break, My Dream Boat was well behind him at Chantilly, Western Hymn looks held by My Dream Boat, The Grey Gatsby needs quick ground and Found has been beaten three times already this season, the most recent being just 11 days ago.

I’m surprised Godolphin have entered Dubai Turf third TRYSTER, who has been totally overlooked in the market at 28/1.

He’s done all his racing on the all-weather or on quick ground in Britain and Dubai – where he’s been prolific – and looks unexposed on this softer surface.

Sent off favourite in Dubai, he attempted to come from last to first to make best use of his turn of foot, eventually finishing third – watch below:

In this smaller field his swooping style is a lot less ambitious, and with A Shin Hikari the likely front runner in a race with no obvious pace, Tryster’s turn of foot might just cause an upset if it does turn into a sprint.

The below video is a much better example of just how potent that weapon is.

With the likely defection of The Grey Gatsby we’re set to have just five runners, so the each-way two-places terms look appealing – at 28/1 his coming second would pay 6/1 on your stake – and The Grey Gatsby is so weak in the market he won’t cause any Rule 4 damage either.

Worth a punt.
