Hopefully antepost pick Banbridge runs here on the fresh ground, and he has an outstanding chance if he does. I’ll be backing CAPODANNO at 9/1 as well, though, as he was brilliant at Cheltenham’s trials day meeting and won the race through speed more than stamina – of which he also has bucket loads. His third in a Grade 1 at Christmas, only a head behind Gerri Colombe and ahead of Drinmore and Irish Grand National winner I Am Maximus is very good form, and he just looks like an improved model this season. Don’t forget he won a Grade 1 novice chase two years ago and he’s always threatened to be a very good horse. 9/1 seems a bit daft for one of the in-form horses in the race, and I’ll be backing him each way in what feels like a free shot.
