Antepost Coral Cup selection Iberico Lord is rightly favourite here on bad ground, up a furlong from his Ascot disappointment. He does have to bounce back to form though and I’m sticking with my view he’s a plot job for going up in trip in March. ALTOBELLI has an excellent chance here. He ran huge at Ascot when a closing third and has form up in trip on soft – though not heavy – ground. He’s a well handicapped horse and I suspect a greater test of stamina will suit this improving 6yo. Trainer Harry Fry says the rain is a big plus so I can’t pick any holes in his chance as he’s already proven he’s super competitive in big field handicaps off a mark of 132.
