2m Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) (5yo+)
I feel SLADE STEEL is being underestimated here. He has something to find on bumper form with Ballyburn but has looked a natural over hurdles, winning both starts cosily. The form has a good look to it to as he’s beaten King Of Kingsfield pretty easily and his Navan defeat of Lecky Watson was well advertised in the Lawlors of Naas. At Navan I thought he won despite the trip, and though it proved he stays well on bad ground, he should be effective over 2m. A line through King Of Kingsfield suggests there’s not a lot between him and Farren Glory and he can outrun 8/1 quotes.
