7f (Row) Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) (Class 1) (2yo)
This race looks wide open despite there being a short priced favourite. I’ve learnt the hard way Salisbury form rarely translates to the top tracks and Skellet looks way too short on what might be softer ground than she’s experienced before. Chic Colombine and Gushing Gold look exposed and I’m not sure cut in the ground really suited the latter at Doncaster when well held – she looked one paced. The bet here has to be CIRCE at 11/1. The good old fashioned combination of a Kodiac on soft ground is a winning one and she’s a big price. She’s only run twice and the horse that beat her first time out is in the Group One later on this card so I’m in no mood to play down that form. She’s still very unexposed and her last run was her best one, so I don’t see why she can’t go close here.
1pt win Circe @11/1, 14:25 Newmarket, Friday
