An interesting race as shock Derby winner Serpentine makes his reappearance with so many doubting the value of his big win given the way he stole a massive advantage mid-race. Aidan O’Brien has his classic ‘he’s just ready to start and is going to improve plenty from the run’ line out and the market has ignored that, but I’m not. Mogul won at Goodwood but I’m doubting his 12f staying power and I think ENGLISH KING, who was favourite for the Derby, ran very creditably behind at Goodwood, struggling for position and not really handling the track. He will love fast ground and is a proper 12f horse who will relish a strong pace, which Serpentine will surely provide. I think he’s the wrong price at 11/2. He’s got a lot of class.
