7f Chesham Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (2yo)
The value here might be in betting without the favourite, Alfred Munnings, as it’s clear connections rate him very highly and he has the pedigree to back it up – but the price is too short. I’m going to do just that with Mark Johnston’s FINN’S CHARM, a huge son of Kingman who looked to have progressed from his first run when dominating a maiden at Musselburgh. He beat nothing there but showed his liking for fast ground and the time was good. Johnston does all his galloping on the track so the progression makes sense and this horse should step forward again. In a race full of progeny from middle distance sires, having Kingman in the pedigree is an advantage at this stage of their careers.
