Nine runners and a short price favourite who has only run the once, which has to be a green light for a bet. At least the favourite is proven on softer going whereas most aren’t, but I was very taken by the way LOCAL HERO powered home on debut at Kempton. He’s got a massive stride with a high enough knee action and looks a really strong stayer, so the drop to 7f on softer ground should be fine. I like backing horses based on the way they move and he looked really classy on debut. I’m more than happy to have a bite at 9/1 in a wide open race.
