Inspiral is rightly a strong favourite here because of her course form and the ease in the ground, but she’s always been a hype horse and that’s got into her price. MODERN GAMES is a short price for the Breeders’ Cup Mile and rightly so as his form in North America is top class. Yet, despite not winning a domestic Group One, he boasts an excellent second to Baaeed at Goodwood – throw in his French Guineas win and it becomes quite difficult to say Inspiral deserves to be a fraction of the price. On balance he is a bet at 4/1 with a clear form edge over the remainder. If not his favourite surface, good to soft ground should be okay with a dry forecast – his French form says he goes on it.
