Another good betting heat with first-season sire Mehmas represented by the 2nd, 3rd and 4th favourites who have all shown raw speed this season. It’s hard to pick between them but I think Method has the weakest form so doesn’t deserve to be shortest. The favourite is dropping back in trip which is an odd decision as he stayed 7f well when unlucky last time out, so he’s easy to pass. I think the bets are the other two Mehmas runners. I’m a real sucker for a Clive Cox trained sprinter and SUPREMACY looks the likely pace in this race, having gone clear from the front at Goodwood. I can see him being very difficult to pass if afforded the lead so 13/2 looks big. No doubt I’ll be having a saver on Menzaal too, who looks a very fair price at 7/2 after running away with the Gimcrack in eye-catching style.
