Evens favourite Free Wind doesn’t appear to take a lot of racing. She’s clear on form but has only made it to the track three times since 2021 and couldn’t follow up her impressive win first time out this season when fifth in a fast ground Hardwicke Stakes. She shoulders a 3lb penalty on what could be desperate ground should the rain come, so I’m taking her on. TIME LOCK has been running to consistent figures at around 12f and is proven on soft. She’s only won the once but gets her head down and battles well enough and doesn’t throw the towel in at the end of her races. That’s what you want in bad ground and bodes well for her staying this extra 2f. At 7/1 I’ll take my chances.
