3m Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices’ Chase (In Memory Of Nigel Clark) (Grade 1) (GBB Race) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Rarely does the phrase horses for courses apply so well as this particular course and distance, and I’m concerned about The Jukebox Man’s tendency to hang left here. I’m not sure Massacio or Hyland are going to have the speed or class required despite jumping well, but WELCOM TO CARTRIES looks the least exposed. He ran a really good race on chase debut, jumping like a natural but finding the Sandown hill too much against race fit rivals. His participation here is a vote of confidence and I suspect he’s overpriced at 12/1.
