1pt win Workahead @6/1, 13:20 Cheltenham Festival, Tuesday

2m½f (2m87y) (Old) Michael O’Sullivan Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (GBB Race) (Class 1) (4yo+)

It’s difficult to take on Kopek Des Bordes after his demolition job last time. The only negative would be he’s keen and wears a hood, so a massive Festival crowd will test his mettle. If he’s going to get beaten, I suspect it’ll be from something that puts some pressure on his jumping from the front. I’ve liked WORKAHEAD for this race ever since he ran away with his maiden at Leopardstown over Christmas, and the market vibes are incredibly strong this evening. He jumped immaculately last time, showing much improved form for his reappearance – where he was entitled to need the run after two years off the track – and he just showed that bit of X factor that you want from a Supreme winner when pulling away from William Munny. That form has been franked and I suspect the good ground is a massive plus because he looks a very pacey horse. He’s tightened up in price but that’s a strong sign of confidence and I’m on board.
