1m1f (1m177y) Sky Bet And Symphony Group Strensall Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo+)
I could make a case for most of these as it’s an unusual trip that suits non-staying 10f horses and outpaced, staying-on milers. I like Beringer a lot but he’s a five-year-old that’s racing off level weights against a trio of horses raced 9lb and 8lb his superior. The same comment applies to Dark Vision who looks way too short to me. I think it’s between the top rated horses in this race and it’d be no surprise to see Lord Glitters strike at his local track and he’s a very fair price at 7/2. I don’t think Pogo will stay the extra furlong, but if he does he probably wins, which leaves ZABEEL PRINCE at 7/1. He’s had flashes of brilliance during his career which have earned his 115 rating, but his form is admittedly quite patchy and he hasn’t shown too much since landing a Group One in France over this trip last season. As a seven-year-old I’d expect him to need his reappearance this season more than most so I’m forgiving that fairly tame effort in hope he’ll step forward.
