1m  (Str) William Hill May Hill Stakes (Group 2)  (Class 1) (2yo)

This is a really good race. Cloak Of Spirits looked really good on debut at Ascot, scooting clear to win by an easy three lengths. However, this assignment is a step up to a mile, and the sectional times at Ascot showed Cloak Of Spirits was slowing down in the final few furlongs. With so little evidence that might mean nothing, but without more form in the book she is difficult to fancy. As much as I’m a big fan of West End Girl, the value in this race is obviously Aidan O’Brien’s PASSION at 7/1. Twice raced and successful second time out, she’s a full sister to Irish Derby and St Leger winner Capri – who was himself a very good two-year-old – so seemingly ticks all the boxes. Surely she will go off shorter.
