1pt win Death Duty @4/1, 18:05 Punchestown, Friday

Such is the esteem Gordon Elliott holds DEATH DUTY I’m tempted to give him another chance now back down in trip from three miles.

He was touted as the best hurdler he has trained and his best chance of a winner at Cheltenham, however he flopped badly and you’d suspect that was too bad to be true – or simply over a trip too far.

The form of his defeat of Augusta Kate certainly looks strong now that she’s since beaten the classy mare Let’s Dance at Fairyhouse.

Let’s Dance runs in this too, but looks held on that collateral form line and has to bounce back from an underwhelming run just a few weeks ago.

Colin Tizzard’s Finian’s Oscar looks a bigger threat after a couple of Grade 1 wins this season, but he’s a tight price and Death Duty gets the nod on value grounds.
