Only the four runners but this is a very good little race. Master Debonair sets a high standard with his course form also coming on bad ground – it may literally be unraceable tomorrow with awful conditions forecast – but his price is prohibitive and I’ve had PIPESMOKER in my tracker since he was a major eyecatcher when staying on behind Chantry House at Cheltenham. That form has taken two big boosts with the 2nd winning a Grade 2 and Chantry House looking all class when coasting home at Newbury last weekend. The step up in trip looks ideal, although the ground is an unknown, and he’s a nice price at 5/1 with the top two dominating the market. Sporting John could be anything, but he’s a very short price given his opposition have big chances.
